Vallarta Botanical Garden

Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden

The Vallarta Botanical Gardens is a world famous sanctuary located just 30 minutes from Old Town

Winners of the USA Today 2019 Readers’ Choice for Best Botanical Gardens, they are rated #5 of the top ten Best Botanical Gardens in North America.  What an honor!

This is a not-for-profit organization started in 2004.  The garden sits on 20 acres of land and is home to a vast diversity of Mexican plant species, including the most visited public collection of orchids in Mexico.  It also has a chapel and small cemetery.

Check their website for garden hours, entry cost and optional tours.  You’ll be outdoors and walking a lot, so bring your water & sunscreen and wear comfortable shoes.  If it’s hot enough, take a dip in the river.  The restaurant and gift shop are extraordinary, so be sure to plan to have lunch in this wonderful setting.

Take the BLUE bus from Carranza & Aguacate, look for ‘El Tuito / Botanical Gardens’ in the window.  The buses come every 20-30 minutes, the cost is $20 MXN pesos.

We’d love to hear about your experience at the Vallarta Botanical Garden!
