Not Your Usual Sunday Morning Brunch

Sheraton Brunch

I love it when I discover another amazing thing to do here in PV. And then the question comes…why am I just hearing about this?

I was invited a few weeks ago for a Birthday Brunch at the Sheraton Buganvilias. I’ve driven by it a hundred times…so unassuming from the road. More important, a great group of people were gathering and it wouldn’t have mattered to me that they were serving dry bacon and overcooked eggs.

But that’s not what they were serving.

As I got out of the Uber in front of the lobby, I’m already impressed with this place. Everything is on a big scale. I spot the pool and head for the brunch line. I stop at the window as I enter. Is that chunks of Jarlsburg cheese (!) that I see? OMG I haven’t had that in sooo long. I step into a huge palapa and most exquisite open air dining room overlooking the bay.

Upon greeting my friends, I’m greeted by staff who are anxious to make me a mimosa. For the entire time I am there, they don’t let my mimosa go less than half full. I head to check out the food…and it’s a bit overwhelming where to start. I go through the ‘line’ and then head back up to video this for friends that frequent PV, they just aren’t going to believe this place. I start at the crepe station, move on to a full on taco truck, followed by a sushi bar, Mediterranean bar, a smoothie and juice place, ribs, BBQ, roast turkey, made to order omelets, pancakes, ham, pozole, paella, chocolate fondue pots, cheeses, fruit, pastries, petit fours, yogurt station…and I’m missing half of it.

It wouldn’t be a Mexican brunch without music. They bring out a 12+ piece Mariachi band (6 violins!) and pretty soon there are a few of us dancing in the aisles.

Brunch costs $540 pesos for non residents (residents get 20% off, bring your ID) and this ALSO includes the use of the pool for the day. It doesn’t include tip, so be kind to your server! They do NOT take reservations. Doors open from 10am to 2pm.
